I literally just finished Linger. I finished it and I got up so that I could write this review. So here I am, wrapped in my wolf blanket, writing my review.

My thoughts:
After reading Shiver, I was ready to hop in my car and go purchase Linger. However, it was dark, I had no gas, and no money, so I opted to wait to purchase it. Come about three weeks later, I purchase the book.
Linger, for me, was a bit slow. I felt like I was slowly trudging through snow, beautiful and a bit uncomfortable. Beautiful in the sense that, like the beauty of a landscape covered with a sheet of soft white snow, we get to see Sam and Grace enjoy a somewhat normal life for a while without the worry that Sam will change. It became uncomfortable, like the uncomfortableness of wintery chill seeping down into your bones, when it just kept going on and on. It was like there wasn’t much movement in the novel until towards the end.
It took me a few days to finish this book. I never was really pulled in to the book. It was good enough to keep me reading but not good enough to give me that feeling of being ripped apart when I would lift my eyes from the pages.
The outcome at the end was pretty obvious and one that I kind of hoped for, but I also kind of didn’t. I was hoping for their to be some kind of twist. Well, there was one that Cole shed some light on, but there is that part in me hoping that the twist was even larger. Not as obvious. Maybe in the next book it will be better?
Out of all the characters, I think the one I enjoyed the most in Linger was Cole. He is a new character introduced in the book and I am glad that he came in. He brings a new feel to the book. He has a cockiness that I’m kind of digging over Sam’s super emotions. Sam can be a bit over emotional and sometimes I get a bit annoyed, but that’s Sam. I’m just glad that Cole is there to shake up the dynamics a bit.
The book, in all was okay. I’m hoping that Forever will be a bit better.
On another note, I am going to try to read some of The 5th Wave before Saturday since Rick Yancey will be the Keynote speaker at Lib Con and I plan to get my hardback copy signed.
